Florian Bengert (Ludwigshafen am Rhein, 1989) studied architecture at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and graduated with distinction in 2017. His master thesis, which examines the smartphone as the New Architecture Machine of the 21st century, was awarded the Friedrich-Weinbrenner-Prize 2017 for outstanding theses. Beside some guest studies at Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design (HfG) he gained working experience as an architect in several offices including Buchner Bründler Architekten in Basel and bogevischs buero in Munich. Funded by the scholarship program of the Sto-Foundation and the ARCH+ Förderverein, he was part of the Berlin based ARCH+ editorial team in 2016/2017. In the summer of 2018 he was project assistant for the projekt bauhaus Werkstatt / Datatopia Summer School at Floating University in Berlin.

Since 2019, he has been teaching “Entwerfen und Darstellen” at HFT Stuttgart as part of the master program Urban Planning. 2020 he joined the team of Raum + Entwerfen (Prof. Marc Frohn) as a research associate. Together with Lukas Bessai and Marcel Schaaf he founded the studio CURIOUS ABOUT in Karlsruhe.
